Today yet more stock arrived from KK on the Tung Mah Express to satisfy the insatiable demand for the two field guides. It’s gradually emerging that one (Myers) is the choice of the dedicated birder, while the other (Phillipps) is scoring with the less committed. [...] The second day of the Festival opened hot and muggy. An overnight storm failed utterly to clear the air. It’s been like something out of Conrad all day.
