Ties that Bind; Iban Ikat Weaving

The first edition of this volume was published as a catalog for an exhibition of Iban weaving and 70 ikat fabrics. Response to both the exhibition and the catalog, supported by a grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation. The College of William and Mary in Virginia, and the Tun Jugah Foundation, has been most gratifying. The comments of several readers convince us that there are few publications that present the techniques of preparing catton and natural dyes, and of the step-by-step procedures of weaving, as clearly as does Ties That Bind.
