A  twice yearly journal (ISSN 1985-3912) published by the well known Natural History Publications (Borneo) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It combines high quality printing and colour reproduction with authoritative notes, species descriptions and revisions of genera. Malesia is a biogeographical region encompassing the Malayan peninsula, the Sunda Is (Borneo, Java & Sumatra), the Philippines, the Moluccas,  New Guinea and the the Solomon Is, but excluding Australia. The colour photography is excellent and the format, 2.5cm shorter than A4, allows orchids to be shown in all their finery. Species descriptions have very clear drawings, and the whole approach is professional and of  a high standard. The orchids of Malesia include a large number of endemic species, some of which, such as Paphiopedilum rothschildianum are both spectacular and rare. For the orchid specialiast, this journal must be a high priority.
