Wild Sabah is one of the world’s most diverse an exiting natural environments. The first part of thisĀ book deals with Sabah’s geology and soils, its trees and forests and the enormous variety of species that inhabit them. TheĀ critical relationship between the people of Sabah and the forest, between conservation and development, is discussed, together with the history of the development of nature conservation up to the present day.
The book then moves on to an evocative photographic journey into every corner of Sabah, portraying each of the regions in all their natural splendour, ending with an afterword from the author in which he shares his hopes and fears for the future of Sabah’s wild places.
